Singer from Cameroon, Ange Ebogo Emerent recorded his first 7inch in 1974 with Orchestre Essian on Sonodisc.

Marc Nkodo David - Marco Star African Xyl

(Marc 001).

This album has been recorded at Radio Cameroun studio, probably in 1983. Marc Nkodo David plays the solo guitar, name of the band being Marco-Star. The recording is not perfect but the music is very interesting rhythmically. During one song he explains that the rhythm they're playing is  called "angazuma" (engagement?). Any additional info is welcome.

Francis Bebey - Africa Sanza (1982)

Guitar player, singer, composer, writter... Francis Bebey (1929-2001) takes a trip back here to the roots of his african music, playing only sanza (instrument on the picture), flutes and drums on this album. Although, exploring these traditional patterns allows him to produce universal sounds, which was one of Francis Bebey aspirations.

Michel Kingué - Nout'am (1977)

Michel Kingue (1933-2007) contributed to introduce makossa to occidental ears in late 60s playing clarinet and saxophone. Among his collaborations with Gilles Sala on Songhoi Records, here is Nout'am from 1977. First part of the track is a folk style song which turns into killer afrofunk...His daughter Weyah is pursuing the family musical tradition and explained me that title of the track might be misspelled as in duala language "ndut'am" means "pain".

Manu Dibango - Soul Makossa original 7" (1972)

In 1972 Manu Dibango is ordered to compose the anthem for the 8th African Cup of Nations, taking place in Cameroon. The A face of this 7" is realized for this purpose with Eno Belinga. On the B side, he was free to include one of his personal production, Soul Makossa, a song that allowed him to gain worldwide fame (but also to be savagely sampled by Michael Jackson and recently by Rihanna...)

Francis Bebey - La condition masculine (1975)

Here is a ufo from congo, amazing keyboard, incredible lyrics dealing with the impact of feminist ideas on evolution of man/woman daily relation. In a humoristic way (sure it's humoristic?!! seems to be so natural!), congolese pluri-artist Francis Bebey here talks about his "oppressed male condition".
